FC Scientific is a powerful scientific Formula Calculator with a full range of operators, mathematical functions and some simple statistics. It consists of the Formula, Buttons, Statistics and Totals tabs, and all the File, Edit, View, Calculators, Options and Help menus. It comes with complete context-sensitive Help, Examples, Hints and Tooltips.

See the Screencast for an example that uses the Buttons calculator tab, which allows calculations to be performed using a combination of typed-in formula and buttons for all operators and functions.

The User Manual contains a complete description of FC Scientific, and the Screencast under FC Lite shows a tour of the features that are common to the FC Products, including the menus (except FC Free).

* Version updates include bug fixes and new features.

FC Scientific consists of the Formula, Buttons, Statistics and Totals tabs, and all the File, Edit, View, Calculators, Options and Help menus.

It comes with complete context-sensitive Help, Hints, Tooltips and the User Manual. The Help and Hints include a complete range of feature and context-sensitive information, plus examples. The Tooltips explain the purpose of each tab-page edit box, button and list.

There is a full range of 10 arithmetic operators, and 21 trigonometric, hyperbolic, logarithmic and exponential functions, plus the constants Pi and E.

With the Buttons tab page, users of FC Scientific can:

  • Use button-operated alternatives for all operations and functions, which enables them to be applied by clicking a single button

  • Easily calculate square, cube and all other roots, either by a typed-in calculation, or by using a button

  • Apply buttons to numbers or to whole calculations

  • Apply buttons to several numbers or calculations at once

  • Do multi-step calculations in a single step, by applying buttons to calculations.

With the Statistics and Totals tab pages, users of FC Scientific can easily calculate the total, average and standard deviation of a list of numbers or calculations, by clicking a single button.

With the menus, users of FC Scientific can:

  • Save calculations in native format

  • Load calculations saved by FC Lite, FC Arithmetic or FC Scientific

  • Save initialisations, to determine how FC Scientific is launched

  • Change settings, for example to control the way the number of decimal places in results is determined, or to change the edit-box text color, font and size

  • Customise the calculator, by duplicating, omitting or re-arranging tab pages

  • Clear each edit box on the current tab page, or on all the pages

  • Resize or maximize the FC Scientific dialog-box window

  • Make the dialog-box stay on top when switching to another window

  • Enable default menu items

  • Suppress Hints and Tooltips.

Users of FC Scientific can't:

  • Apply all the functionality on one tab page

  • Load calculators saved by FC Max, except those that have been customised to exclude The Works tab page.

The User Manual for the FC Products covers all features across the FC Family of Products, including the File, Edit, View, Calculators, Options and Help menus.

The sections directly relevant to FC Scientific are: FC Scientific, the Formula, Buttons, Statistics and Totals tabs, the available operators, functions and constants, plus some of the Examples, including the Cosine Law.

You can download the User Manual for free, using the link on the top menu, and FC Scientific also comes with a copy that is automatically installed on download after purchase. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the Manual.
