FC Max is a very powerful scientific Formula Calculator with a full range of operators, mathematical functions, and some simple statistics. It comes with complete context-sensitive Help, Examples, Hints and Tooltips.
In addition to the features of FC Scientific, it contains a tab page called The Works, which contains all the arithmetic-operator, mathematical-function and statistics functionality in one place. This makes it more convenient for calculations that use all this functionality, because they can be done without using copy-and-paste between pages. See the Screencast tab for an example.

It comes with complete context-sensitive Help, Hints, Tooltips and the User Manual. The Help and Hints include a complete range of feature and context-sensitive information, plus examples. The Tooltips explain the purpose of each tab-page edit box, button and list.
There is a full range of 10 arithmetic operators, and 21 trigonometric, hyperbolic, logarithmic and exponential functions, plus the constants Pi and E.
With the Buttons tab page, users of FC Max can:
- Use button-operated alternatives for all operations and functions, which enables them to be applied by clicking a single button
- Easily calculate square, cube, square roots and cube roots by clicking a single button
- Easily invert or change the sign of a number or calculation by clicking a single button
- Apply functions to numbers or calculations by clicking a single button
- Apply buttons to numbers or to whole calculations
- Apply buttons to several numbers or calculations at once
- Do multi-step calculations in a single step, by applying buttons to calculations.
With the Statistics, Totals and The Works tab pages, users of FC Max can easily calculate the total, average and standard deviation of a list of numbers or calculations, by clicking a single button.
With The Works tab page, users of FC Max can:
- Use button-operated alternatives for all operations, functions and statistics, including buttons that can calculate squares, cubes, square roots and cube roots, by clicking a single button.
- Apply buttons to numbers or to whole calculations
- Do multi-step calculations in a single step, by applying buttons to calculations
- Apply a statistic as a step in a calculation directly, without doing copy-and-paste between tab pages.
With the menus, users of FC Max can:
- Save calculations in native format
- Load any calculation saved by FC Lite, FC Arithmetic, FC Scientific or FC Max
- Save initialisations, to determine how FC Max is launched
- Change settings, for example to control the way the number of decimal places in results is determined, or to change the edit-box text color, font and size
- Customise the calculator, by duplicating, omitting or re-arranging tab pages
- Clear each edit box on the current tab page, or on all the pages
- Resize or maximize the FC Max dialog-box window
- Make the dialog-box stay on top when switching to another window
- Enable default menu items
- Suppress Hints and Tooltips.
